What is Nguzo Saba?

The Nguzo Saba are the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa - a seven day celebration of African American and Pan African heritage and culture that takes place from December 26th to January 1st each year. The Nguzo Saba were defined by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor of Africana studies, to serve as a communitarian African values system to help frame and inform our growth and progress thru a positive reconnection with the best of African history and culture. The benefits of the Nguzo Saba / the Seven Principles when applied are considerable, measurable, indisputable, and would be multiplied several times over if we focused on applying them 365 days each year. Please join us in our efforts to link the Seven Principles with issues and topics of interest and those we encounter in our daily lives to help expand our self understanding and what we are willing to do because of it.
